The first annual IAS canned food drive was a tremendous success. IAS employees came through with overwhelming response, and collected over 1,400 cans in about a week. The Halloween themed food drive benefited the Capital Area Food Bank which serves families in need across central Texas.
IAS employees collected 1,443 pounds of food which will serve 1,254 meals to hungry families. Volunteers at the Capital Area Food Bank were impressed with the effort that went into the IAS food drive. They claimed it was one of the most successful food drives they had seen in quite a while.
In addition to the food drive, IAS hosted a lunch, and employees participated in a Halloween costume contest. Four categories were judged and prizes were awarded to each winner. Wanda Willow came as Martha Stewart and took first pace in the Most like a Celebrity category.
Michelle Crow won as the Binder Queen in the Most Fantastic category. Lisa Eckenrode-Wylie was voted most Original as The Leftover Pot Roast, and Kim Garcia and Kimberly Smith tied, both having the Most Frightening costumes.
It was great to celebrate Halloween as a company and to give back to the community to help the Capital Area Food Bank prepare for the upcoming holidays.
